482 Visa Processing Time

Anyone else waiting for 482 now? Medium term or otherwise.

Would the COVID-19 situation affect processing times?

Submitted my application on 4 March 2020, and was quoted a processing period of 7-14 days.

That would have been fast.

Actual subclass 482 processing times in January 2020:
  • Short-term: 75% finalised in under 35 days and 10% took over 69 days.
  • Medium-term: 75% finalised in under 29 days and 10% took over 59 days.
  • Labour Agreement: 75% finalised in under 27 days and 10% took over 76 days.
  • Sponsorship: 75% finalised in under 21 days and 10% took over 40 days.
  • Nomination: 75% finalised in under 21 days and 10% took over 28 days.

COVID-19?
Many countries around the world are imposing various levels of Bans, Quarantine or Isolation processes to try to keep the rate of the COVID-19 Coronavirus down in their country.

Australia is no exception.

Common Sense tells us that if a country wishes to restrict the flow of the virus into the country, it must restrict the flow of people into the country, from overseas.

One of the easiest ways to do that is to NOT issue visas for entry.

But, we can only guess..
