New applications?

So my partner and I were getting ready to apply for a 309 visa before all this craziness happened, and we were about 90% there. Unfortunately I've recently had a job offer rescinded due to COVID-19 and I'm finding myself with a lot more time on my hands - a perfect time to complete our application. My ImmiAccount says "You should not apply for any visa until checking the latest information" - the latest information says "You should reconsider your need to apply for an Australian visa at this time...". I understand our application will not be prioritized and given the circumstances, it certainly won't speed things up, but can we still lodge our application? I kind of want to get the ball rolling, albeit slowly rolling...

I would personally guess that the advice to not apply might be for visitor visas and other visas that are normally processed quickly.

Skilled and other working visa applications might also be pointless. Due to few jobs available, with many people becoming unemployed.

A partner visa takes time, and might be in a different category.

Starting it now and adding to it while waiting may not be a big issue.

May I suggest that you consult a registered migration agent for an assessment?

There is no problem lodging the application now, provided you meet the requirements.
