Moving to Oz - Sponcership etc.

I am moving to Australia in January on a Holiday visa. I am looking to seek sponcership through employment as a Quantity Surveyor. I have applied for jobs before I leave and one recruitment agency have said that they might have someone interested. What I am wondering is, Do Australian Companies offer sponcership for a proffesion like mine?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Ron and welcome to the forum,

There's no real restrictions as to type of occupations that can be sponsored but there are requirements to be met by employers and for their nomination of a position to be sponsored and of course the potential employee in matching to the position and that includes an occupational qualification/skill assessment.

Employer Sponsorship has in the past been more confined to temporary residency visas but the government has something of a culture wish change afoot to have Employer Sponsorship Permanent Residency Visas as the spearhead of their new immigration processing policy.

I'll move your thread to our Visas & Immigration section, there being a heap of posts there and sticky threads for getting info.
And btw, it'll pay to note the way we spell it here if you're writing to employers.

Edit Have a look at Visa Options - Employer Sponsored Workers - Workers - Visas & Immigration
