Visa lodgment

Is it possible to lodge the visa and make payment before I start uploading any evidence to the visa 820, as the visa 300 does not expire until November.

If This is possible then I believe the PR 2 year waiting period will commence from today right?

Thanks

Yes. You can begin the 820 as soon as you marry.

Do not wait until the 300 expires.

Ours was:
300 Granted: 14/3/16
Married 26/4/16
820 Application Lodged: 14/5/16

The 820 was even granted before the 300 expired.
820 Granted: 18/8/16
300 Expiry Date: 14/10/16

801 Eligibility 14/5/18

The 2 year waiting period will commence from the date you submit and pay for the 820.

Oh wow! That’s amazing!! If we have as much luck as we did with the 300, then our timeline will look as attractive as yours!!

So I can complete, pay and lodge Today and then upload docs as we go.
We currently have:
Bank statement
Saving statements
Rental lease
2 statements from family members
Marriage certificate

Thank you!

It is a good idea to lodge the sc. 820/801 application as soon as you meet the requirements and well before the sc. 300 expires. Best practice is to have all essential supporting documentation ready and upload immediately after lodgement.

I have been getting sc. 820 grants for sc. 300 visa holders through in 3-4 months recently. They seem to be pushing them through at the moment.
