Tss visa 482 sponsored

Hello

Wondering if anyone smart can assist. Applied and submitted TSS visa 482 from UK in March. Start date April and then put back to July.

Questions are when do you think they'll start processing visas?

Also with travel ban do you think September or October is realistic?

I don't think my new sponsor will be so kind to put back start date another 3 months but worth seeing what's possible if they willing.

Thanks

To be frank, no one, probably not even the Minister, knows the answer to this question.

According to prime minister, Australia is ready to re-open. So Sep is really realistic (optimistically Jul).

I heard they start processing student visa but not sure about sponsored visa or working check.

The Government has said that international travel will be the last thing lifted. There is talk maybe 2021, September would probably be out of the question.

I think this is applicable to tourist but hoping they allow people in before this who have a visa to work and not for holiday. With a 2 week quarantine and checks either side shouldn't see the issue when the purpose is for work.

You are basically facing 2 problems, one is getting a visa, and the second is travelling to Australia.

Paul Hand, who is a Registered Migration Agent, has already said that he doubts if even the Minister would know when they will return to issuing 482 visas, and he would be in the best position of all of us to know.

The travel ban is applicable to everyone, not just tourists.
Currently the only people being let in are Australian Citizens, and their close families or Permanent Residents and their families, as well as people with critical skills required during the pandemic.

What do you base that statement on? All indications are otherwise.

My point being labelling all under the same umbrella would be suprising as tourist is one thing and a skilled visa with a sponsored job contributing towards the economy is something else.

August and September is the goal hope the PM agrees

If the travel ban applies only to tourism, or to temporary skilled migration as well is immaterial if you don't have a visa, and as I mentioned an MRA has said that there is no indication when the Department will recommence issuing 482 visas.
I suppose only time will tell, the relaxation of restrictions is based on the continuation of low numbers of new infections, if the numbers should increase then all bets are off, and everything is back to square one.

I also agree that tourism and work visa are not the same..you cannot control tourists and you cannot enforce them a quarantine because they are here for holiday, by definition. In contrary, a work visa holder can be controlled and authorities can control the application of the quarantine and other test against virus if needed. Of course, this is my personal opinion. I can also agree that closing everything is the safest option for the Australian gov, and for all others govs. We can all thanks China for what they offered with this virus 🙂
