TTS only do the biometrics on behalf our immigration. They are closed because of COVID in Suva and Lautoka and all over the world. You’ll need to apply for an exemption for biometrics if you haven’t done them already, like we do. Unless you did them minimum 6 months ago. Medical examinations are still able to be done and the Australian embassy in Suva is open. Does anyone know if any visitor visas have been processed from Fiji since COVID? We’ve lodged my husband’s 309 and I usually travel back and forth to Fiji. I can’t go on like this and neither can he...

How do you apply for a biometric exemption?

I assume with all the evidence showing it is closed locally and around the world and asking for an exemption due to compassionate reasons or anything you can think of. We havenít done one yet but Iíve been told others have had success in other countries. TTS call centre and offices are closed until further notice. Immigrations answer to biometrics being closed therefore you canít complete by required date is ďwe are aware there are delays due to some processing centres being closed and will extend the due date...Ē so then go further and request an exemption. Your visa canít be processed without it or an exemption. Itís ridiculous they canít use past biometrics collections that are older than 6 months. Itís fingerprints and a photo in Fijiís case. All tourist/visitor and partner visaís from Fiji require them.

Ok, I understand. Just a matter of asking I guess. I found this in a biometrics FAQ sheet they released a few years ago:

Persons Excluded from the First Stage of the Biometrics in Offshore Visa
Processing Program
 Australian citizens and Australian Permanent Residents
 Applicants for an Australian Declaratory Visa or Australian citizenship
 New Zealand citizens
 Applicants who are eligible to apply for, and have been granted, an Australian visa online
(including Electronic Travel Authority)
 APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders
