Second Stage - Harder Than I Thought

Hi everyone,

Back in February I received the email to proceed with the second stage of our 309/100. We relocated to Canada for work for 18 months, all of that is explained in the statement.

It’s May and I’m just putting the finishing touches on statements and formatting for submission in a weeks time.

The only problem is all of the JP’s in Queensland are closed, we aren’t sure how to go about getting our statements and 888’s witnesses.

Any ideas?

Individuals on this forum told me that you don't need to have your personal statements witnessed and signed.... only the 888 form which I thought the person who was doing it had to get witnessed by a person on an approved list?

Sounding like a beginner!

We used a teacher for the sake of making it look more official.

Hope all is good.

Stage 2 is different there is a specific stat Dec for the sponsor.
EH you could always kick off the application and upload them a bit later.

There's often JP's at chemists. Also there's a large list of occupations written on the sponsor stat dec that can be used. We submitted ours this week and our local chemist had a JP, places like the post office also offered to witness.

edit: government (qld does anyway) websites give a list of JP's in your area, and their phone numbers.

Legend. Thanks, man...forgot about that. Mother in law lives next to a teacher.

All is good, man. Miss Australia like crazy, but once this stuff slows down, we’ll be back.

Thanks for the suggestions, all, much appreciated. Teachers, doctors and JP’s on call.

It costs $45 here. I miss Australia.

Eh? is smarter than the average punter, I expect the 18 months working offshore is more the statement issue not the sponsor issue - but I am wrong daily.

That’s the one. Just trying to explain it while tying it into other areas. Perhaps I am over thinking it...I mean, of course I am haha.

But the sponsor statement is a specific form, which I now don’t know how we will get done, being as we are both here in Canada.
