Partner Visa 820- 801

Hello, everyone. Feels great to be back on this forum.

I would like to thank everyone who helped me with my partner visa. I was the anxious person who always asked questions here before maybe about 2 years ago .
And I would like to share to you that my Permanent Residency application (subclass 801) got approved few days ago.

Here's the timeline of my visa

Lodge date for my partner visa 820 - February 2018
Partner visa 820 approved - January 2019
Lodge my Permanent Residency ( subclass 801) - February 2020
Partner Visa 801 approved - May 2020

THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE

Did you need to do any new police checks or medicals? We have the same timeline but only lodged the 801 this month (instead of Feb).

Hey,

I am not sure if it is necessary to have a new police check but in my case i did provide a police check last month before they even asked for it. But with the medical, no they didn't asked for a new one since the last one I did which was maybe 15 months ago.

Hi lehvee

Congratulation on your visa grant that's really good to hear.
I have a question, What you mean by "Lodge my Permanent Residency ( subclass 801) - February 2020"?

Did you create a new Stage 2 - Permanent Partner Visa Assessment (100, 801) application ? or you didn't do anything and based on your application partner visa 820 lodged in February 2018 the immigration granted your permanent visa 801.

thank you

Hey. yeah you have to lodge another application for your partner visa 801. They usually email you a month before your eligible date.

And I lodged my 801 visa 2 years after I did the first stage of my prtner visa.

Hi lehvee,

Thanks for the reply. It helps a lot. My 2 years up this 09 Jun 2020.
My timeline pretty weird, I seem other getting their 820 granted in a years time or less, but mine it almost 2 years.

Applied 820 on 09 Jun 2018
Granted 820 on 27 May 2020

Not sure why it took them this long to grant my 820.

Hi, yeah sometimes it really depends on the situation and the case officer. If they will not grant your 801 yet until the 2 years of your first stage, better lodge the stage 2. Some people got their 801 right after the 820 was approved.

I hear ya. Mine was lodged 11 months after yours and still nothing. I was recently asked to submit a new AFP check though, via my agent, and it meant I now have a CO. I have read on FB that someone got both of theirs within 5 months. Anything is possible. Hang in there.
n.b Perhaps try the 'Ask Mark' page on here. He might be able to advise how you can hurry it along a bit.

*** Received my 820 now***
