How are people lodging their visas?

I keep seeing on this forum that people say they went through a certain office in their country. I am a little confused by this as I thought there was only the immi website. Are people going to the Australian Consulate in their country and giving them a physical application or something? Or do they mean that is the office that is assigned after it's been lodged?

Just curious what everyone is meaning when they say "I have sent it through X Office".

Thanks guys.

Think people mean where it was processed, E.g. I applied through the Immi website but on documents I was sent relating to the application it came from Australia High Commission in London, since I applied from the UK.

I may be wrong....

That does sound right.

It is normally assigned to the closest office to the applicants residence.

Hi all,

When you lodge an application (these days most are lodged online through the Immi Account), they are allocated to their respective processing center (either onshore or offshore depending on the visa subclass and/or the location of the visa applicant).

Ahh, that's what I figured, but wasn't sure. I was worried that maybe there might be other more efficient ways of sending the application that I was missing out on, lol. Thanks guys

Most visa applications can be processed anywhere.
