Second Stage (s/c 100) Sponsor Stat Dec (Outside Australia)

Hi everyone or anyone awake and reading this!

My wife and I are putting the finishing touches on our second stage documents and application details and one piece that I'm stuck on is the stat dec by the sponsor.

I'm speaking of the form that is downloaded from the Home Affairs website. I have a question or two about this and I'm hoping to get a little clarity on it.

First - we are outside Australia at this time and will be for a while yet, how do we go about this being witnessed? We can have a notary in Canada witness the statement and stamp it. Is that fine?

Second - for our 888 forms on the first stage we didn't use the template given, instead our witnesses wrote their own statements and followed the guidelines of said form - is that acceptable for this form as well? Can my wife (sponsor) write the statement following the official form and have this witnessed?

I appreciate the help clearing this one up. I can't wait until this stress is over and done with.

Thanks!

Except for 888 declarants, if you are applying online you do not need statutory declarations.

Oh wow. I don’t know how I could have missed that! I thought because it was linked (the declaration form) on the s/c 100 page it was mandatory.

Thanks!

I thought it was needed too.
I saw someone that didn't do it, and were requested for it before the 2nd stage was granted. It was the 801 second stage though.
They received the RFI, for the Sponsor Declaration form, 17 months after 801 eligibility, and received the grant just under 4 weeks after they uploaded it.

Maybe the 801 is different to the 100?

As the sponsor, that was all I did for the 801, 2nd stage.

That's great. Thanks, JandE, much appreciated.

We are just waiting on our 888's to come through and my AFP check, then we are ready to submit. I honestly didn't think it would take 4 months to do this second stage, in fact it probably shouldn't have, but hey...stage 1 was approved in 36 days because of the work I put in, so maybe this one will be too!

Hopefully you have the same luck this time round also!
