Does Bridging Visa count towards Citizenship?

I am wondering if being in Oz on a valid Tourist visa and Bridging visa immediately before a Temp/PR partner visa, processed on shore counts towards 4 years on a valid visa ? eg, arrive in Oz and not leave, (tourist, bridging, Temp,PR inclusive 4 years)

What counts as a visa?

Came to Aust on a 3 month tourist visa 4 years ago.
Applied during the 3 months for a partner visa which auto went to a bridging visa.
Temp Res issued after 3 weeks on bridging and PR the same day.
(Bridging ad PR waiting was waived)

(No overseas travel time effecting the Citizenship requirements)

Can she apply for Citizenship counting the tourist visa ( and bridging) or does the 4 years start at the issue of Temp (& in this case PR which was issued on the same day)

John

You start counting from the first day you entered the country. Bridging visa counts. I was on bridging for years and it counted towards my citizenship app.

Good luck

How do holidays affect this?

Say the situation was

Tourist Visa -> Bridging Visa A -> Bridging Visa B -> 1 month overseas travel (South America) -> Back in Aus -> 820 -> 801...

Do we still count from the day we entered Aus originally or does the holiday affect this?

Never mind, found that it doesn't seem to affect it!

I was on tourist visa for 9 months before BVA. I was in Australia for the 9 months except for 2 periods when I was overseas (6 weeks in the first instance and 3 weeks in the second).

Could anyone help me with these questions?

1) Does being on a tourist visa count towards the 4 year requirement for citizenship?
2) Does the time I was out of Australia while on the Australian tourist visa invalidate this 9 month period?

Any comments would be appreciated.
