Receive invitation, visa expiring, bridging?

Let's say I receive an invitation for 491 after EOI, but my visa is expiring in a few weeks, can i lodge for 491 and then apply for a bridging visa?

Thank you in advance, appreciate your help!

If you lodge a valid application onshore for a visa that can be granted onshore a bridging visa is automatically granted.
