I guess we will have to put this on ice for now and just accept that the move will be delayed either way.
It sure is unfortunate. I found out yesterday that my wifes Australian Citizenship has been (most likely) granted, and it hurts to know that if not for COVID, Id be lining up an ETA to go over and lodge the 820 this month and get the heck out of the U.S. Alas, we have what we have, and looks like neither of us are getting to proceed as planned. We will do a 309 instead, as all indications right now are that we will be much farther ahead in the end. Were gonna be stuck here regardless, the 309 will let things happen in the meantime. Best of luck to you.

The 309/100 route isn't a bad way to go though. My wife and I did that a couple of years ago. I wanted to go the 820 route to just be onshore, but in the end we did the 309.

It was worth it, may be worth it for you as well.

I just saw your timeline... did you really get your 309 in five weeks? I know it was a few years ago but... wow. I would love to be so lucky!

36 days, pretty wild haha.
We spent a solid 5-6 months preparing the application and front loaded it.

Just waiting on the 100 decision.
