BVA validity

Hi

We arrived in Australia in March with an evisitor visa and applied for a onshore tourist visa 600 (until december 2020) on the 15th of April and waiting since then for a decision and the status is on Received . We called the home affairs hotline and they said everything looks okay, we just have to wait until it's processed

Since the 20th of June we are on our bridging visa a because our evisa expired then. Is the bridging visa a valid until there is made a decision even if takes a couple of months?

Thank you and best regards

The Home Affairs page for BVA says

With this visa, you can:

stay lawfully in Australia until your substantive visa application is finally determined,

Some people are on a BVA for many months.
