Biometric and health check - new visa lodgment (partner 309)

On the website of VFS, it says all Australian visa application centres are closed and so the physical pannels for health check. However, it also says: "If you are an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or permanent resident who need to travel to Australia urgently, you must lodge an application online. Once you have lodged, you can request urgent processing here."

We are going to lodge the application anyway in 2 weeks, so what would be happning to our application? Would we just have to wai until the application centres re-open or could we request for an urgent process like it says?

Thanks

Do not rely on any information from VFS.

Do you mean that nothing that we can do at this stage and thus our application will be put on hold?

I don't think that is true. We received a request for more information a few weeks ago from a Queensland processing centre.

More likely to mean 'do not believe what VFS say'.

It seems that some Australian visa application centres are open, some people are getting Medical checks done and some visas are being finalised.

#JandE: thanks for clarafication, this is a clear reply. My wife is in Vietnam where everything has been open 100% for more than a month, so hopefully AVAC there would open. Will ask my wife to call and confirm.

Thanks,

Thanks,
You can still submitted your online application, as soon as you can, and let the process begin. That applies whether VFS Global is open or not.

I have heard that even if most 309s are not being granted yet, due to restrictions, they can still be processed until reaching the final stages, where they might be held until the country is ready for intakes again.

At least you would be in the queue earlier.

Exactly, that's what we think too, it is good to be in the queue. We have gathered all necessary documents and forms, and 99% ready for the subission. We will subkit by the end of this month.
Thanks for your helful comments JandE, as always.
