Cool Travel to NZ on 820 visa

Hi,

My partner holds an 820 visa. We want to travel to NZ after COVID-19 for a short holiday but her home passport is not on the NZ visa waiver list, is there a special process we can use to secure a visa for her to visit NZ given that she holds a valid Australia 820 visa or must we just use the regular visa application method?

EDIT: I ask because getting the 820 visa was such a rigorous process that one would hope we would be given an easier avenue to holiday in NZ, given that they are our neighbours. We just spent 30+ minutes filling out the NZ visa application (for curiosities sake, no travel plans yet of course) and it's certainly quite a process.

Unfortunately for you it is only permanent residents who get the concessional; entry into NZ.

I have a question regarding travel to the United States on 820 visa. Has anyone tried to get a visitor visa to the US holding a temporary partner visa? (Of course we are not talking about travel during COVID 19 times)

What are you trying to determine? If you can enter the US under the Visa waiver program?
If so the answer is clear:
"The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables NATIONALS of certain countries, including Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa, if certain requirements are met. Under the VWP, time spent in Canada, Mexico, and adjacent islands counts towards the maximum of 90 days stay allowed under the program"
If you are not a national you will need to obtain a Visa before travelling

I am trying to determine if it is possible to obtain a visa to the United States in Australia, holding a temporary Australian residence, not permanent.

There is no question mark on do I need a visa before travelling. My passport is definitely not on the list of countries which can enter the US without a sticker. What my question is - see above

I understand now, your residential status in Australia is immaterial to the granting of a US visa.
Here is a link to the US visa service in Australia, they will be able to answer all your questions.
