Citizenship Time + Elegibility

Hi all,

just got a question that seems no one is able to answer.

Does the Bridging visas are counted as a lawful residency towards the citizenship?

I arrive to Aus in 2009, got a series of visas including Bridging Visas, until I left Australia for about 1 year and 4 months, I got my TR(2016)to come back and then PR (2018) and the calculator would say I am eligible but I still don't know if:

- leaving the country for 1 year and 4 months
- being on Bridging visa counts towards the 4 years
- also if the trips during the PR would push forward the time in Aus

I contacted immi but two agents gave me two different dates.

When did you get your TR?

The only dates that are relevant are those from 4 years before the date you apply.

ie: If you apply on 15 August 2020, then the relevant dates are from 15 August 2016.

Trips during the 4 years between 15/8/16 and 15/8/20 might delay the eligibility if they add up to more than 12 months, or over 3 months between 15/8/19 and 15/8/20.
