482 visa in Western Australia & Engineers Australia

I am trying to confirm if I need to keep on my payments for engineers Australia. I am currently on a 482 visa working as an engineer.

I have been a member of Engineers Australia for a year now but I am wondering if I actually need it. i don't really use its services and its not recognised in any way at work, in terms of keeping up the payments.

My visa states I have to hold any license, registration or membership that is mandatory to perform my occupation nominated in relation to you.

I work as an engineer but I don't feel like I need to continue paid membership. I think that if I cancel my payments, I remain a member but I
am then an unpaid member. There are two other engineers I work with do not pay membership to EA however they are under different visa conditions so, I was hoping someone else would be able to shed some light.
