485 PSWV help

Hi,

I'm in the middle of applying for my 485 post-study work visa.

In the application it asks for details "of ALL your family. Include family members who are not accompanying you to Australia as well as deceased family members. Where appropriate, you are required to provide details of the following family members: your parents, siblings" etc. I don't have any siblings but I entered my parents' info under non-accompanying family members.

Then when I get to the countries of residence section it asks for "details of all countries in which you, your spouse/de facto partner or dependents (accompanying or not) haved lived for 12 months or more". My parents are not my dependents so I assume it's right to not fill in their details, however, it won't let me continue because this message comes up: "at least one country of residence for each person over 16 is required". I realise it wants me to fill in my parents history.

My question: do I remove my parents from the family members section or do I fill in their residence history as if they are my dependents?

In some countries, the family unit might comprise Parents, Uncles etc., as well as children.

In Australia, the family unit appears to just consider the children of the couple, not normally parents or siblings. Although some other ‘dependants’ might be included.

That last bit could include parents if they are your dependants.
