Help with visa issues & citizenship application

Hi,

I was charged with breaking a law over 10 years ago, with a fine and no recorded conviction. I was already a Permanent Resident then.

The court lawyer advised me I was legally allowed to say I have no conviction, as I do not have a record.

I had been law bidding and not even receive a speeding fine.

I didn't know there is a difference between having no conviction/ convicted until recently. I thought no convction means not convicted.

I am in panic mood now, as I have ticked "No" to the RRV criminal question for the past years.

I only found out when I research for the requirements for citizenship.

Would anyone be able to advise if I would be deported if I alerted this mistake to immigration?

And would my citizenship application be rejected if this is the case?

Would anyone be able to advise?

Do not take migration advice from 'court lawyers'.
You do not seem to be in too much trouble.
If you want me to have a look at your case, please go to my website pinoyau.com and use the contact form.

Being an Australian citizen is a right, not a right. You must also take on important responsibilities when you are granted entitlement as an Australian citizen.Contact us if you want a lawyer: https://aylwardgame.com.au/team/abolfazl-moghadam/
Thank you. Sorry, but I do not quite understand the first statement. Understand that I need to take responsibilities to be an Australian citizen and I do so full heartily. I have been law bidding since, and also volunteering in my community.

The fear is that I will be rejected of my application of citizenship and potentially be deported from Australia for the mistake I made.

Thank you. So I would still be able to apply for my citizenship if I made a mistake on my RRV visa? And there is a good chance for me to continue to live in Australia?

Thank you. Sorry. I do not quite understand the first sentence on the citizenship is a right, not a right. Would you mind elaborate for me? I am definitely looking for a lawyer to assist me on this matter, as I want to make sure I do not take another foot wring and have the best possible chance of getting my Australian citizenship.

I suggest that you contact Westley, who has already offered to help you in answer to your original post.

Or Paul Hand.

Both are Registered Migration Agents and know what they are talking about.

It does not hurt to ask - how long have you been managing this sort of case and what is your success rate? In my case the answers are 17+ years and 100%.

Lawyers who ae not also registered migration agents are permitted to give migration legal advice, but not migration advice. That does not deter some of them. The time is near when lawyers will be permitted to give migration advice; even if they know nothing about it.
