OVHC and 820 visa

Hello,

I couldn't find any relevant information online - can you guys help?
I've just submitted my 820 visa application and got the confirmation for bridging A visa.

- my 457 working visa is still active until 2022, so bridging visa is "not active"
- I'm still on the Overseas Visitor Health Cover (OVHC) required for my 457 visa.
- It is my understanding I can get Medicare coverage now. Does this mean I no longer need my OVHC? Can I terminate my OVHC immediately after getting my medicare card?

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Yohan

I got my medicare card when my bridging visa A was not active. I have a student visa valid until the end of the year. I didnt terminate my OSHC for my student visa. So I have both right now (OSHC and Medicare).

You need to maintain your visa conditions if you breach your conditions your visa can be cancelled, if your visa is cancelled so is the bridging visa.
But yes you can get medicare
