Second stage of partner visa (801)

Hi all, so my partner and I lodged the partner visa (820/801) in November 2018, which was approved in May 2020, which was great. We’ve now received an email from DHA to submit the stage 2 (permanent) application and we have a couple of questions:

1. the application form is very similar to the first one we lodged a couple of years ago. There are similar questions about financial/social/household aspects, etc of the relationship. When we lodged the first application, we answered these questions by preparing relationship statements. So we were wondering if we need to prepare similar statements again, or simply provide answers in the boxes provided in the application, and do they need to be as detailed as they were in the first application?

2. We have joint bank accounts, and we provided these as evidence for the first application. We don’t really use the joint account for our expenses anymore, because we got a credit card earlier this year (due to the rewards attached to the credit card). The credit card is in my name, and partner transfers her portion of the rent and expenses to my bank account each month. So we are planning on providing a statement explaining the above, and provide all relevant credit card and bank statements to show that we’re still sharing all expenses. So we were wondering if this is going to be an issue? Is this going to negatively impact our application?

They want information about your relationship since the 820 was granted. What this might be depends on the particulars of your case.

If you didn’t use it and explain the reason why in the statement.
