Should applicant report hospitalisation while visa application is still pending?

Hello everyone,

I have a query regarding change in health conditions while a visa application is still pending.

I applied for a 600 visa and submitted medicals 20 days ago - no issues found in health check. Recently I was diagnosed with a small tumour and undergone a surgery today. I will be discharged in 2 days and everything will be as usual since no complications have occurred during surgery.

I am wondering if I am bound to report this incident to case officer? I’m worried if they find out they might think I am lying as I had not disclosed this condition while lodging application. I remember answering no to “do you intend to visit a hospital during your visit” or something like that.

You should notify immigration about your change of circumstances. If you are going to,
may I suggest that you take professional advice from one of the registered migration agents who posts on this forum?.
