Post Eligibility for Temporary Graduate Visa 485 (online study)

Hello,

I am currently doing an online study in my home country without holding any study visa (The biometric centre is still suspended). I may intend to apply for a 485 visa after graduation. However, the new policy under covid-19 states that ’Online study*outside*Australia is counted*from the time of*Student visa grant’. I cannot apply for a deferral now since the census date has passed. Will my whole course be denied to apply for a 485 visa?

Also, my course has equally weighted 18 subjects contributing to a total of 225 credits. I am currently taking 4 subjects. Can I withdraw from 2 and continue the remaining 16 when I get the student visa? Does it meet the 92 weeks of study requirement?

Thank you very much!
