Need help 309 to 820

Hi everyone.
I met my partner in oct 2019
Got married March 2020
Applies 309 offshore sep2020
She got 600 granted with no 8503 condition.

Now she is in Australia

My question is can she withdraw her 309 application and apply for 820 onshore. And start to live normal life. As I heard a lot stories about people waiting for over 18-20 months for 309 to be granted.

I live in Australia alone so have her by my side would real put positive vibes all around. Please do let me know if anyone have done this before.

Thanks peace 🤞🏻

You probably could do it but you won't get a refund on the application fee for the 309 and would have to pay the fee again since it is a new application.

My wife waited 10 months for her 309 from application to grant, but yes many stories going well in to two years of waiting.

Yes, you can do this but, as mentioned above, you will need to pay a new application charge.

So it won’t be any issue later with my mrs application? We did take this consider as paying hotel quarantine and flights might cost more than visa fee. So we are taking bitter sip in losing our previous visa fee and apply 820 onshore and start to live but normal I guess.

Only thing to add is no need to withdraw the 309. You can have them both in and just withdraw one once the decision is made/ ready for the other. Just the 309 of its ready first them you'll have to go offshore for the decision
