Changing type of visa application

Hi Everyone,

Last September my husband applied for a tourist stream 600 visa from outside Australia. It is still not approved.

We gave up waiting and he traveled to Australia using an ETA instead. So we're currently doing quarantine in Australia.

But now we want to try and apply for the 600 visa from within Australia. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how we can change his application? Do we just cancel the one in his immi account now and then apply for a new one?

Any advice appreciated.

There are very few visas that can be changed to another subclass. An ETA is not one of them. You will have to apply for another visa. May I suggest that you consult one of the registered migration agents who posts on this forum for advice about your possible strategies?

Thanks for the response. I'm not trying to change the ETA. I want to change the application for a 600 visa (applying outside Australia) to a 600 visa (applying inside Australia).

From what you have posted, it looks as if you should withdraw the offshore 600 application and lodge an onshore 600 application, or some other onshore applcation. This is NOT a considered professional opinion. I advise that you seek one.
