Work visa with dui

Hey guys . (I know I’m not getting in anytime soon with covid) but just asking .. any information is GREATLY appreciated!
So long story short I have a single DUI on my criminal record and nothing else , never convicted or in trouble previously . The single dui has no aggravation factors and I blew just over the legal limit. (Next morning I got stopped) I received a years ban and a 1000$ fine . That was August 2019. I am just curious will this effect my chances of a work visa approval ( and yes I am going to declare it and be completely transparent with my application and officers ) thanks guys 😀

If handled correctly this should not be a problem.

Hi Aaronireland, from my experience, minor, one-off traffic offences that are declared on the visa application do not lead to visa refusal. You will have to be completely upfront and provide all details of the offence on your visa application, as well as submit a police clearance certificate from the country where the offence occurred.

Thanks so much for the reply Jia. And yes everything will be declared on my application an I have the court papers. And just another question. The offense was 2019 August.. if I went to AUS in 2022 and spent two year there and applied for PR .. would the DUI effect that application .? Thanks again for your time
