Sponsor Passport Change

My partner (sponsor) with PR has recently renewed his passport and he applied for AFP and home country national police check using this new passport.

In the initial application for partner visa, the online form that we filled to apply partner visa, we used the old passport which was not expired at the time of application.
My question is how do I change this detail? I have uploaded his new passport details as part of the Identity proof recently. However, I am struggling to find a form or anyway that I can change this info. I know that there is an update form I can fill online for my own (applicant) passport change. In that form, there's no selection to update the sponsor's passport.

Anyone has any recommendations for this issue?

TIA!

You should be able to make the change online via your ImmiAccount.

I am not able to that's why I have explained it in my post. When I logged on the immiaccount, click on update details and click change of passport details, there's no selection with my sponsor name. I can only change my own passport details.

I don't think you'll be able to update your sponsor's passport details via the 'Update details' button in your partner visa application, only your own. Have you checked the sponsorship application as well just to be sure?

If it isn't available there either, you may be able to update his passport details through one of his previous applications (e.g. his most recent RRV). Should you still have a reference number, you may be able to import it to your ImmiAccount if it isn't there.

If you can't do it through ImmiAccount at all, you'll need to complete form 929.

Edit: Just to note, this is to update his passport details in general with Home Affairs (i.e. add his visa to the new passport), respective to the partner visa application, it sounds like you've already informed the case officer of the new passport by attaching a copy?

My partner's most recent application is his PR application and it has been finalised. No RRV applied. He did filled in the sponsorship application with the new passport details. Just our initial partner visa application has the old passport details.

So what happened was that we recently filled in the sponsorship application (form 40sp online) with the new passport details and did not use the old expired passport details. We also recently obtained the AFP checks with the new passport because we didn't front load it at the time of application. We also attached the old and new copy of passport as his proof of identity because we have done the AFP checks, online sponsorship application using the new passport but our initial partner visa application used the old passport details which was valid at the time of application.

I just gotten off a call with Department of Home Affairs. They advised to just upload the form 929 and upload it to either my account or my partner's immiaccount. I did see that the form 929 indicates that I can email the form 929 if I am unable to update it on immiaccount. Uploading the form to the immiaccount should not be a problem for me. Just wondering if anyone who has been through this and able to share what they have done. Otherwise, I might just go ahead with the form 929.
