I'm a PR with goals of moving my family (wife & son both Aussie) to the USA this Christmas.

Would doing so put my citizenship application at risk?

Moving overseas may affect your eligibility for citizenship.

One of the eligibility requirements for conferral is to maintain a close and continuing association with Australia while overseas. You might still get approved should you be able to demonstrate this; a migration agent may be able to assist in this case.

Additionally, you would usually need to be in Australia for the application to be approved, and to attend the ceremony (which can be months after the approval).
