It's been a week today since we delivered out 820/801 application and still no acknowledgment letter my husbands current visa expires in 2 days

Yikes, I would call and email them (the specific processing center) immediately.

I have and they said it was receipted on Friday and that's all they could say

Have you tried accessing your Visa details online (i.e. through VEVO)?
Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO)

Yes I have. And it still says his subclass 417. Immigration informed me that VEVO doesn't change until the current visa expires !

He will go on a briding visa on the day the ols visa expires and than you will see it online. had the same problem...
