457 Visum - Health Check & Police Check

Hey there,

Im going to lodge my 457 visa and want to double check if I have all documents complete.

As far as I heard there is no initial need for any health check or police checks, but how big is the chance that they will ask for it anyway? The visa is quite urgent, so I dont want to have any delays because of waiting for any special documents.

Would you recommend going to a doctor right now and doing this medical check? The same question for the police check.

Im going to work as a IT Professional, living in germany and 32 years young. I already have a health insurance from an australien insurer. (Dont know if this is important..!?=

Thanks in advance.

You will be required to provide the medical and police checks before your visa will be approved. If your visa is time sensitive you should start chasing them up as soon as you can.

You need to get your HAP ID before you can do your health check.
I have just done that and still waiting if police check is needed.

Hi.,
Does that mean it's unnecessary to secure police clearance from my home country before any instruction from a CO? I've been invited last week for visa 189. Still waiting for new passport prior to lodging visa app.

Any advice please

Thanks all, so, I still dont know how big the chance is that they are even asking or is it required for every 457 visa? I have a friend of mine and no one asked him ever for any healt & police checks, same visa.

Anyone knows how much it will be approx.?

Can I start with the health declaration before I lodge my visa or even parallel to it?

Referring to this document "Health requirement
for temporary entry to Australia" (Link is not allowed, just google it), there will be no health check needed for me.

1. Im living in Germany (Lower Risk Country)
2. I dont fit into any of the special listed "Intended activities".

So, what should I think or expect now? Dont want to waste even more money and time for providing things that nobody wants too see on the one hand and on the other hand I really need the visa quite urgent. Quandary situation at all. :-(
