Tourist Visa Extension

Hi everyone,

Can anyone advise me on the documents that will be needed for applying an additional 3/6 month extension on my original 3month tourist visa that will expire on 5th of Nov 2013. I didn't bring any of my documents, so I have no idea if just form (1419) and visa fee will do?

I really wanted to experience the Christmas and New Year and celebrate with my relatives here in Australia, I have no "no further stay" on my visa by the way.

Thanks in advance and have a good day!

Sorry but you can't apply for an extension when you have a no further stay clause. The cause also means you can't apply for a new visa onshore.

You will have to go offshore and apply for another tourist visa. Just be aware that they may not grant it again as you have only just returned.

sounds like the 'NFS' restriction is NOT on this person's current visa. Sorry I don't have any idea about the rules about this. Hopefully someone will see this soon who can help

Why not ring DIBP and ask them what they require? It is better to be safe than sorry IMO. My guess is that you would need to provide them with why you are wanting to extend the visa (if you don't I would presume they would call to ask). I would not be surprised if they ask for proof on how you can support yourself for the additional time.

Best of luck
