Hi there,
why do you need an agent in Sydney? They can help you from anywhere. I know one very very good in Sydney (if you insist on Sydney) but he is also a solicitor, so I am not sure whether the problem you have would justify the expense. Tell us your problem, maybe someone from the forum can help you.
Regards,
Dorota
The Australian Government has established a Migration Agents Regulation Authority (MARA). Migration agents who are registered in Australia with MARA have a sound knowledge of migration procedures and are required to work to a stringent code of practice.
Yes, Patricia, they are required to have sound knowledge, but it is not always a case, some may be slack, some may not have much experience despite long registration, some only know the Act, the Regulations and policy, some are also lawyers, who know the extensive case law, i.e. how the Act and Regs have been interpreted by the courts. Depending on the nature of the advice needed and the complexity of the issues you should look for someone who is experienced in the area and, if issues are complex, who is willing to research the problem for you.
Regards,
Dorota
Im pretty puzzled now, some people I talk to thinks migration agent is not needed due to the fact immigration website is so precise and straight forward. But what about the layout and presentation of the application? is there any standardized way for application or everyone can do it differently?
while some agents i talk to thinks its better to do it the professional way and have it done in a way that is more professional to immigration.

The application forms govern the lay-out and as you say there is a lot of information available via the Immi web site, including a Checklist in applying for visa sections.
