How about your age and qualifications? It's possible to get a PR when you are over 45 in special circumstances, usually in positions that require a lot of study and experience to be fully qualified, I'd say uni professors, rocket scientists. You'd have to tell us more.

Dear Emma,
having had no recent experience in a specific occupation on a SOL (list of trade and prof occupations) I am sorry but it looks like you have no chance of coming here on any of the skilled visas. If you have business experience and are prepared to move your business (and a lot of money) to Au, then maybe. If you don't have a lot of money, then you should consider study. Although you all can come to Australia and live temporarily on a student visa, only one of you has to study and both can work (with limitations). It's hard but many families are managing. I suggest you choose an area of study with good prospects of employment and remuneration for the future, so that you don't just study to get your PR, such as maybe nursing.
Good luck
Dorota
