My partner's SKCK from Jakarta stated it was only valid for 6mths but I believe that DIAC recognise the certificate as valid for 1 year from the start date on the certificate so it will depend when the certificate is dated - it should be valid (to DIAC) for 1 year from that date.

It doesn't matter how long the country you got them from said they were good for. Australia considers police checks valid for one year. You don't need to worry!

Hey Banyuwangi,

Seems like we're in the same boat for SKCKs.. Is your wife an Indonesian resident and citizen? I'm not sure about the possibility of renewing your SKCK, but in my experience, it doesn't take very long to arrange a new one. I arranged mine just recently, and the whole process lasted two days. However, I am a citizen and resident, and if your wife is none of those, the process would be different.

And also, why would you plan on getting it renewed from the Australian Embassy? I'm pretty sure anything to do with the SKCK would involve the police only

Hi Chocobiscuit, regarding renewing the police check ( SKCK ) for my wife it is from POLRES Jakarta that is for sure and not from the Australian Embassy but we don't have to do it now because we had a confirmation via my wife email that saying we don't have to renewed at all...Thank you kindly for your reply Chocobiscuit....Cheeers...
