Average processing time, in days, for Family applications, by overseas post

I have been doing some research on how many people are involved and what is the processing time in the past for family visa in different locations. I came across some official documents that I would like to share. Please feel free to read them. It is a really good source of information.

Thank you frombelarus for sharing the info.

I have seen the posts where people have mentioned that it takes 2 months now only for medicals, which has jumped from 2 days to 2 moths because of the bottleneck.

I think we should hope that this all would get better because of the new govt. and minister but no change so far.

This government is in power for under a month , how long does it take to clean up after incompetent labor and treacherous greens.

Fastest from the history seems to be Belgrade. I wonder if it will change too much for 2013 though.

These reports are so much better than all the speculation and estimations that people have been making on this forum.

But breakdown to stages of processing (medicals, police check, interview etc..) seems a bit difficult to get though.

And based on the table and other figures from the reports. It seems no where it is faster than say 180 days (6 months). and based on that I am guessing that no amount of preparation or padding the application will make it any faster. And biggest inference I can make is that magically, everywhere the average processing days is touching above the 180 days mark, and it seems like overall processing time is determined by the policy rather than the merit of each application/location. i.e. in plain terms, your application will be stuck for 'n' number of days no matter how strong your case is.
Though occasionally some have been lucky to get it processed in 4-5 months period as well.

Just my 2 cents guys

I totally agree to you Goldfish

This is what it is, only the govt. knows what kind of applications should be prioritized. Based on the information; ASIO is now flooded with security checks for asylum seekers which i assume is the new policy to prioritize the applications based on the type of application.

Govt. has to pay for the the asylum seekers and they need to fix this ASAP by any means necessary.

Besides all this the number of applicants are much higher than two years ago and still increasing, which could also b a major factor in delayed processing. And on top off all that We don't see that the govt. is consuming extra resources to process the applications. They still have the same number of employees to process a much higher number of applications.

What is right or wrong is up to the govt.

Yes Kaga , you are 100% correct , some members here forget that this forum is for people who do/done the right thing and trying to come in through the front door , according to the laws of this country.

I myself have applied for offshore partner visa and is waiting since last 5 months.

I know how painful is it to go through with all this but we also know that the Govt. Is elected by the people and will follow/alter laws, policies and practices for the good of its own people.

We all hope that this situation would get better for the people trying to follow the Australian people's will or in other word the Australian laws.

Thanks, frombelarus, for this nice work. Damn, it says that average for Vienna was 244 days in 2011/2012 but at this moment I am at 530 days and still there is no end.
