Hi Kajis

I would suggest starting with the easy bit first:
1. get your IELTS score
2. get your skills assessment
3. start surfing the DIAC website to absorb as much info as possible, especially their section on basic requirements

the steps to follow for a 176 would be:

1. Skills assessment
2. IELTS
3. State sponsorship (check out NSW state sponsorship website)
4. Visa application

Hope this helps.

Slight change I'd suggest to what crazy horse has put.
. Check ACS site, their web site at end of SOL, link on Professionals and Other Skilled Workers Immi page and cannot recall they having an english standard mentioned.
. But I think you'll find ACS require at least four years experience for approval of Qualifications for CSL ocupations.

Once you clarify that, you can better plan your next steps, perhaps employer sponsorship for a non CSL occupation, get experience and accreditation with ACS later if still required,

ok let me more precise here is my case,

I have 4yrs professional BS Degree in Computer engineering.
Cisco Certification but expired as not need to update as i am working in the IT sector and updated from time to time on the behalf of company.
I researched my code and i lies under 2231-79 and my expertise is Network Security. so its in CSL and MODL too.
Furthermore I am in uk since 2004 and was student
in different courses and working 20 hrs in IT firm as a Network support Engr. after completion of my studies i got work permit and promoted to Network Administrator as a full time since nov 2008 till date.
So, i have got 1yr full time experience closely related to (MODL/CSL) 2231-79 network security, and almost 4 yrs part time closely related to SOL. i would like to know is my experience is enough or i need to get 3 yrs full time experience in the same field? as i read at immi.gov.au;
source of info: immi site
Specific work experience
You will be awarded points if you have been employed for three (3) of the last four (4) years in an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).

You must have been employed:
* for at least 20 hours a week
* in a paid position
* at a skilled level in your nominated occupation or in a closely related occupation on the SOL.

so wether they gonna consider my experience or not ??

And the most important thing to discuss with you is that i am illegible for both subclasses 175 & 176 relative visa. as i need 120 points in the subclass 175, and 100 points in subclass 176. so is there any advantage or disadvantages of 175&176? what problems m gonna face while aplying in these class please suggest me as i have no problem applying in any category.

sorry to bother you guys any help wud be appreciated
regards
kajis

Submitting Visa this week

Hello,

We are about to submit our 176 (family sponsor) visa this week.
We are going in as my husbands nominated occupation - Accountant!

Very keen to see your time lines and to see how long it takes - I would love to be with my family by Christmas - maybe a bit to optimistic??

Nix

Sorry, your latest query kind of fell between the cracks as we say kajis.

You do have to look at the qualification assessment process separately from Immigration and the 20 hours a week is re Immigration.
I would think that your part-time experience will not be sufficient for ACS assessment.
Unfortunately for a lot of people the MODL has been revoked and you can have a look at the sticky thread at the top for further info.
It will have an impact for many re points and priority.
To claim specific work experience, ie. three years in last four, the experience requirement is for experience post qualification.

It could be that the 176 family sponsorship will allow you to still get the points but it will be a lower priority application and be an indefinite number of years.

If your husband has the required IELTS score [ think you mentioned so in your other post ] , that'll help with priority as it is now.

He should keep an eye on what the changes just announced do re State Migration Plans and transitional arrangements re revoking of the CSL.

If the family can do some scouting re relevant positions for Employer Sponsorship, perhaps that's also not be something to be discounted.

Wanderer, Yes his IELTS score was the highest you can get. I have e-mailed my agent and he assures me that the latest announcement will not affect our application. We have thought about the company sponsorship route but feel its too risky. My sister went on sponsorship and lost her job only 6 months in..
