Visa granted onshore in 20 days

OMG received a huge parcel today from immigration Perth W/A my 802 has being granted in just 15 days. I applied on the 25th September and received the letter today 14th October visa granted on the 10th October. I had to read this letter a dozen times to be sure. Cannot believe the time it had taken, and to be honest i didnt send them the form 80. Just one question i ask the visa has being granted in the name of my previous name, the one on my passport, they know i am married but have issued it in my passport name. I suppose i would have to inform them when i change my name on my passport?
Still in shock 14 days and i received my 802......

Congratulations!

I assume once you update your passport, you simply send them a copy of the new passport so they can update your file (I think it's form 929 you complete to go along with it).

I've married since I got my 457 visa, but haven't updated my passport yet so I applied for my 186 in my passport name. When it's time to renew my passport, I'll change my name and then let DIBP know to update their records.

the good point is i couldnt believe i didnt send them all the documentation for example i didnt send them any medicals or the form 80 i only gave them a few photo,s of the wedding as we had a quite do. i sent them copies of the original application PMV and changed the details where needed, it was sort of a rushed effort on my part. I never imagined in a million years that it would be posted to immi and returned back within 20 days with a grant. Well done Perth immigration theres hope for all of the applicants.

This was from a PMV to 820 though...so if you are going straight to 820 you will still need to provide these.

Congratulations!

Yes - Louise, I think we may have talked about this, but - PMV to 820 is a whole different animal than just applying straight to 820. It generally gets granted in only a few weeks, and in the vast majority of cases doesn't usually require another medical or additional police checks. Nothing unusual here, but I'm sure it must be such a great feeling to have it in hand! Congrats!!
