possible to re-apply for PR?

My husband and I were granted a PR visa back in 2005 which is due to expire at the end of this year. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, we were unable to make the permanent move to Australia. It is more likely that we will be able to emigrate in two to three years time. Does anyone know if we are able to re-apply for a PR visa? (We still have the required points needed). Or will it be looked upon unfavourably that we did not use it the first time round? Would be interested to hear if anyone has had similar experiences.

No idea Koala of how it would be viewed but I cannot imagineyou being refused a visa if you do apply again but have spoken with the local embassy people or Immigration department on it as though there are regulations re issuing of Right of Return Visas there may be something they'reprepared to do in the case of people who have validated a PR visa but have not been in a position to settle.

From what I heard from other people if you go back to the embassy they renew it on spot, but bit unsure of it. Its best if you ring the consulate.
