I can't help with the Oz side of things. But he will need to get a police check for the UK. They are speedy and arrive within two weeks. Obvisouly a little longer is getting posted to Oz. I had friends who got theirs posted to their parents in the UK first so they knew when they were definitely on their way.

You can get it here-

cool.Thanks for that

Also, does anyone else know about the australia police check and how to get one?? I read you need to get a Federal one done, not a south australia one.

Also, how long before do we need to do the medical and police checks? Since we are doing it in around 4 months, should be wait a bit longer till i start organising it??

Lastly, im the aussie one, do i have to get medical/police checks as well, or just my british partner??

Thanks for the help

As an Aussie Sally and the sponsor, nope, no medicals or police checks for you.

The address for the AFP police check you'll find listed in the PCC section of the visa and pay you to have a good read of the whole visa info, especially eligibility and Applying for this Visa sections, the latter having a Checklist which should be used and then they may ask for it to be attached to the application.

As for timing of the AFP PCC and medicals, they'll really want them to be done as close to application as possible and so with UK PCC done, once the medical is organised, I'd get the AFP PCC request in and if you've got the application otherwise complete with all other supporting info done, as soon as it arrives and you have the 12 months up if applicable, you can shoot the application in.
