Visa 885 query + partner visa advice

Hi

I am on visa 485 visa and planning to apply visa 885 soon as I have fulfilled al the criteria. (Completed Masters In A/cing {2 yrs} + Completed Professional Yr SMIPA).

I am eligible for Visa 885,
But Issue is I got married overseas few days ago and have not applied any visa for my partner.

I want to know should I apply for visa 885 just for myself and later will apply for my wife. if that the case do I need to mention every detail of my wife, why she is not joining... etc

does anyone have similar case..

PLZ ADVICE any better options for doing it...

Thanks

There is a requirement on most permanent residency visas [if not all visas] for all dependants/immediate family to put on the application whether or not immigration is intended [at time of application] and likely that a she'll be possibly be required to undergo a medical examination even if not migrating.

Why not look at putting your wife down as a secondary applicant and it could be that she'll have a visa then, one she will need to validate with a trip to Australia by a certain date, and then she could return abroad to come again later if that is what you want to plan for.
Otherwise, when you want her to come to Australia she would have to apply for a partner visa and it may not be so simple.

First of thanks a lot, for valuable advice...

Plz help me understand that as i am applying visa 885 (holding visa 485) , my wfe does not need any visa before hand to be second applicant on visa 885.

if she can apply along with that will be great...

I was thinking that she cannot apply visa 885 as she is not having spouse visa under subclass 485.

I have mislead you re above advice on having her as a secondary applicant for there are particular requirements which you can read @ http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...gible-visa.htm
It has been requested once previously and a while back and I had forgotten.

You should still list her as a non migrating dependant and you'll need to consider how you get her approved for migration, a partner visa it would seem and you'll need to explain the cultural background as to your marriage after being apart if you were studying and then on a 485 and the acceptance of remaining apart for some time.

It may be that once you have your 885 you'll want to consider returning to live as a couple for a period of time before she applies for a partner visa.

Hi,
Alternatively, she might consider coming here on an eligible student visa shortly before you are to apply for your PR and then you can join her in your PR application as a secondary applicant.
Hope it helps
