Question 485 application running out of time, (silly mistake with police check)HELP!!

Hi all,

I'm pretty new here, and I'm glad a site like this exists, if I had found earlier things would have been easier for me, anyway these are my issues.

I know I am very silly, but I completed my teaching course on December, and started gathering all the documentation since then, but forgot one silly detail, the AFP police check. The thing is I believe I wouldn't get it before my visa runs out, is there any option for me? can I send the rest of the documentation before that date, and the police check a few days later? or I definitely screwed it up?

The second question is about the two year study requirement, I studied a Diploma in music technology, and a graduate diploma in education (secondary). The link between both is pretty clear, as without the music technology knowledge I wouldn't have survived the 45 days of teaching rounds I had at two fancy private schools in Melbourne, but I'd like to know how I can prove that link? a letter? has someone else been in a similar situation?

Please, please help me I am freaking out now.

Thanks!!!

Fernando

If you check the checklist - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener..._checklist.pdf you'll see that whilst you need form 80 completed, there is only evidence needed that you have applied for the police check, so you could put your application and supply that when it is received.

Re the courses, you can have two separate courses as long as they are approved courses and you of course need to meet other requirements listed on http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...lity-study.htm

Thanks for your reply Wanderer!!

I guess I won't need to prove the link between both courses, so I'll just send my application and see what happens (I believe if something goes wrong they'll give me the chance to explain my case before refusing my application).

Thanks again

Fernando

Hi Fernando,

If you are using more than 1 course to meet the 2 year Australian study rule, both courses must be “closely related” to the nominated occupation.

AFP you must have at least ordered at time of lodgement. You must have also at least booked medicals at time of lodgement.
