Spouse visa stat dec templates on DIAC website

Hi all,

My partner and I have recently completed our statutory declarations for the 820/801 visa using the templates available online on the DIAC website. I am assuming that these are the prefered (and possibly the only) means available with which to submit these?

For your reference, links to the two templates are shown below:

Sponsor:

Applicant:
http://www.immi.gov.au/contacts/form..._applicant.pdf

We have found that these "appear" to be lacking in two key areas.

1) I have read that meany people submit 3-5 pages, however these documents only allow for a combined free text space of maybe 1.5 pages.

2) There are only 4 extended answer questions asked on each document. These do not cover aspects such as when and how we met etc, which I believe was a key requirement of the stat decs.

However these are, after all, the versions available on DIAC's own website.

Does anyone know if printing out and completing these documents in the best way to go about it, and has anyone had any success using them?

Cheers,

Simon

Hey - I'm fairly certain that you don't have to use these templates.

Your statements do have to be Commonwealth statutory declarations - here is a completely blank template to work with. Also, you don't need to print this out and handwrite in the blank spots. As long as you copy the text from the template into another document word for word and have it witnessed correctly, you'll be fine.

Make sure you address all the areas mentioned in DIBP's template, plus anything else you deem necessary.

Good luck!

Hi, danegirl is right. It's the Commonwealth stat dec forms you should use. I posted a similar query here and was told that those forms you cited are specifically for the 2nd stage partner visa process (801).

Good luck!

Oh, I didn't use any stat dec for my statement for the history. I just signed it at the end.
