Unhappy processing time spouse visa 309

Hi
I have applied for spouse visa in 20 December 2009. My CO was assigned on 6 Feb 2010. He asked me to provide PCC and Passport. I have submitted my passport and PCC on 25 feb2010. But still haven't received any reply from them. I am just wondering that how much time it will take to process.
Thanks.

Time for all stages of visa processing vary but whilst it is a bit strange to request a passport before all documents have been processed, it may also be a good omen for a decision not too far off.

That varies too and we will know your exact time once the visa has been granted.

Seeing as it's getting on for two months and they have your passport, I'd be contacting your CO to see what is going on and hopefully they have not sent it back to a different address with a visa sticker in it.

I think that the medicals of offshore applications are checked and processed in Australia. I gather this from some of the posters who have mentioned their COs talking of such things. The form 80 is also given to ASIO to do a full security check, so if you have to provide on of these, you're in for a very long wait. Form 80 is not always needed, so don't stress about this at this point.

Other than that, I believe the other criteria are assessed in the country you lodge in.
