Thumbs down Is it FORM 80 or delaying Tactics????

Dear Colleagues,

I have applied under Accountant-175 category back in Nov-08, revised my IELTS score after attempting thrice to get minmum 7, then submitted my score to DIA in Nov-09, by end of Jan-09 they assigned me CO, they asked me to fill and send them scanned copies of FORM 80 in Jan, which I did immidiately a day after,on 4th Feb they asked me to fill and send them again as there is gap between the employment period of me and my spouse..I did refill the same and sent them on 5th Feb, 10, Then I kept on waiting for the outcome...

Just to recheck from DIA I send a query on 23 Mar, 10 that am I justified to assume that nothing is pending from my end and my processing is continuous as the online status of documents detail tell me still the status is same...immidiately on 25th Mar another e mail came from another support officer of the CO that we regret to inform you we observed now that there is gap in the education periods as well..if this gap is due to session jam you have to write here this even....imagine for two months and even in their ealrier e mail they remaiend silent about it...then YESTERDAY i wrote a reply that this not fair with me 15 months have already passed and still the processing of my case is going on like this you could have at least informed me in Feb 4 e mail why u remained silent about question about education and earlier you just pointed me out its question number 23 only bothering u....any suggestion what is this...they didnt reply my email I did send it to the same address from where this new query came after 2 months...are these not delaying tactics...i am very annoyed....tell me any relief available to applicants like me....is it the prefrence which they promise is avilable to only those Accountants who will do IELTs with 7/4......surprised....AU Government...no control exisits i think....

Mohsin,
You are not alone!
I am also in a similar dilemma. Clarifications on details of my Form 80 have been back and forth since October 2009....about three times. I have not heard from my CO since early Feb 2010. This was after clarifying all issues and on my further query...the CO told me that the processing takes time to comply on legal issues and asked me to be patient with them. I guess we hold on for now....but for how long? I don't know. My feeling is there is a delay due to the forthcoming changes to be effected soon. However, from my reading from the Govt site it's evident that the new rules won't affect the earlier applicants...........things don't add up. I intend to communicate to my CO early next month in case their will be no further communication.
I will up date you; in short you are not alone; I guess there is a long que.
Regards
Salim

Dear Salim,

Ya thanks for your e mail please keep me update what happens next but my very best wishes for your success...when I sent them an e mail last month about this extra sleep time they were sending me lame excuses like We are really sorry your file was struck in different deptt now its with us...and believe u me after sending them 4th time again they asked me can u send in a separate sheet again the addresses and contact details of educational and employment institutes of you and your wife...OMG then 5th time I sent now they are saying it may take even months to verify your records now...still months and 16 months already passed..I think no remedy available to applicants...
thanks anyhow...

Mohsin

Hi all,

As Salim said, DIAC has implemented a lot of changes to working visas and student visas as well. Though they shoudn't affect older applicants, the new policies and procedures will take a while to get used to, and COs have to be trained properly in what changes have taken place. Also, I have read somewhere that the form 80 is referred onto ASIO to get a thorough check, and so leaves DIAC hands at some point. So if I read correctly, there would be a backlogg due to the large number of investigations they have had to do latley, especially from asylum seekers.

So, hang tight guys. If you really must complain, send a complaint through the Global feedback unit. The complaint form can be accessed from the DIAC site. They respond very quicky and will address anythhng that seems out of the ordinary.
