I am guessing with processing times of 12+ months they want to make sure you are still together. Maybe they have found that relationships break down and they are not notified.

I wonder if this is going to be something common we will start to see.

Yea, could be.

The CO said he needed ''a little evidence'', from 2014, before he could grant it. So I'd agree that it does basically sound like a request for evidence that we're still together.

Which, given how long it is since we applied, actually makes sense. I'd just not heard of them doing it before.

Just a question re this new information. Are you uploading to your immi account or emailing the case officer?

Thinking of getting ahead and uploading updated info now since it's been 14 months and 2 weeks since application.

Hi everyone just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone on this website that has helped me with my application. Yesterday (February 25th) i finally got granted my 820 visa. I applied on April 13th 2014 so it took just over 10 months. About a month ago i got told i was being dealt with in the Perth office, i submitted online from Sydney. Two days ago i went for my medical tests done as requests and a day later it was granted. I cant tell what a relief it is, like a weight has been lifted. To those of you still waiting, hang in there, its worth the wait. Thank you again to everyone that helped me with questions about my application, its much appreciated, and im sure ill be back with more questions about my 801 when it comes round to it.

Ha, thanks. I'm still pondering becoming a migration agent eventually (you can't until you're a permanent resident).

All very easily done. He also said that registering, even now, would indeed be accepted as evidence.

That said, whilst I am thankful that it's all they're after, I did think it a bit odd. Is it common practice? I kinda thought the only evidence they cared for was that which was from prior to the application.
That IS really interesting. As Mish said, I wonder if we'll start seeing it more. Thanks for coming back and updating us - that is something we don't see very often, and it's good to know it's happening!

I've been in email contact with the CO, and we're sending the extra information in through the mail. I've not done any part of the application online.

Wow!! Congratulations

We applied June 2014 so that gives me a bit of hope (although I know better than to get too excited haha!)

Thanks fantastic kdc - congratulations!

I'm not too far behind you - 27 April 2014; so hopefully I'll hear from DIBP in 2 weeks. Been nerve-wrecking, especially since majority of the graduate programs here require PR, & this is my last year to apply (18-24months after graduation)
