Hi all,

I am new to this forum, I read most of threads here which are really helpful and encouraging.

I applied 820/801 combined Partner Visa application in first week of October 2013. Since then I haven't received any news or outcome from DIBP or nor department asked me any other documents. I sent few emails regarding progress of my 820 visa to DIBP in last couple of months but they just reply that my application is delayed due to security clearance, as I come from High Risk country, Pakistan

As, it now has been almost 17 months waiting time for 820 visa, can any one please share there experiences, Your experience or advice will be much appreciated.

I had applied decision ready 820/801visa applications includes all required documents as well as police/character certificates overseas & Australian, Form 80 and medicals.

Cheers

Ali

Applied 820/801 visa applications 8th October 2013
Paper application
Still waiting for 820 visa to be granted ?????
:confused::confused::confused:

Hi

Same situation as you. Applied 11/12/13. So exactly 15 months today.
Decision-ready application. We also have a child together.

Just waiting on security checks as immi have told us. Igis asked us to contact them in August if still the security checks not back.

On the plus side, not long for PR/801.

My experience is if this happends:
They have issued a new visa for you.

From a Bridging Visa to a Partner Visa or a Bridging Visa has come on effect instead of the previous Visa for example,
if a new Visa is issued then you can't access the old one..

( or if you enter wrong info , every time)

When to contact Immi

Hi, Starting to get a little frustrated now! Have now waited 13.5 months since applying by paper Feb 14 and was told at the time 9-13 months. Do we now have to wait the amended timeframes that new applications are being told of 12-15 months or should we contact them? We were told about 3 weeks upon asking about having to apply for another visa that we now had a CO but nothing else since. I know we should be patient but its very frustrating! Any advice appreciated Thanks :)

Have more patience. .
I never heard anything from the Immigration before the Grant was sent to me via registered post a week or so, after it was granted.
I was expecting an Email about it, but one morning a courrier knocked on the door with
a parcel containing the visa..

Thanks for your reply! We will keep being patient but it's frustrating when you see other people who applied after you being granted theirs first. Really makes you question what process they use to approve. My partner is from a low risk country. Hopefully we hear something soon and before we have to pay for another bridging visa!

I guess it varies from office to office.
Where did you lodge the application?
I sent mine to the Melbourne office.

Just received an e-mail that my application has been transferred to the DIBP Perth Office as part of an internal allocation of work. I applied in late June 2014. Hopefully the grant is not too far off
