Hi all,
I'm currently on 457 employer sponsored, and applied for 820/801 in Feb 2015, after passing our 3 year anniversary. I just checked the status of my visa application, as I can't help being optimistic and checking a couple times per week. My status has been updated to "Assessment in progress". Prior to that, it said something to the effect that they'd get to it when they got to it... Has anyone else seen this change? I'm hoping it's a sign of progress and not just a recent change in wording of the prior message. Thoughts? Thanks so much. |
I believe that it is an update to the wording that they use since I have seen quite a few people comment that their application says the same.

Yes, it is just an immi website update:

Hello
I just have a quick question if anyone would have experience please. I applied for a partner visa online (subclass 820) in Perth last year in mid December. The statusof the application was so far- submitted..or someting similar..cannot ever remember the exact wording. But few days ago I saw that the status of the application has been changed to -Assessment in Progress. Does anyone know if that means that the application doesn't just sit in a pile anymore, but someone is actually looking at it and I have a hope to hear anything from DIAC soon? P.S I haven't done my medicals yet, I will wait until someone asks for them. Thank you for any information Kelly |
Got the answer already :)

Hey, wonder if anyone can offer up some advice.
I applied for a 820 visa in July 14.Me and my partner have just recently purchased some land, and the home loan is in joint names. We have approval to build a house from the bank but are conscious whether we should go ahead just incase the my visa is rejected. If we were to build and get a loan in both our names would that improve our chances, or would you think its to much of a risk? The bank is fine that im on a bridging visa A as im working full time and proved that I have the funds...would immi look at that as the same? Thanks in advanced. |
Woo-ooh!
Received the automatic email that says my application has been transferred to Brisbane office after exactly 8 months (applied online from Canberra - Canberra is dependent to Brisbane office for partner visas I had been told by an immigration lady). Interestingly they had put the expiry of my BVB travel rights just 5 days ago - so maybe they had an idea that they were gonna start the processing? |

Hoping that is a positive. Does anyone know how long it takes after the email for a decision? |
