I'm impatient waiting for my temporary visa too.
I applied on 15th of September 2014 to Brisbane office.
Paper application.
Police check and health check all done together with the application.
My case is quite straightforward and all the evidence was nicely layout. But heard nothing from immigration office except your application is valid and BVA granted.
We sent a form and an email for address change and heard nothing back.
I really hope they didnt lose my application!!!

Hi guys. I'm still reading the 100+ pages of comments and replies of this thread and it was already giving me jitters but at the same time its loading my tank of information. I sent my application just last June 2015 and I’m already anxious about it. Hahaha.. Maybe I’ll be expecting myself to be in here for quite some time..

Hello all,

Wondering if anyone knows...How do I know that a case officer is assigned to me?

I looked through the online portal, and there is no indication there. Not sure what indication I should be expecting.

Regards
Kathleen

Hi there,

You wouldn't know unless the CO calls you.

Hi Kathleen

Only way to know is when they contact you.

Some people don't know who their case officer is until they get the grant.

I thought the email from immi is request police check or something but its visa grant notice! Much quicker than I though, less than 10 months. Im from China, husband is local, my case is quit simple, no children, no previous marriage. Hope everyone good luck^_^

Hi jcap,

Can you also let us know which office you applied for your visa?

I just called up immi, who told me that it is dependent on where you apply as well.

Regards
Kathleen

G'day all

Status when applying - 457 visa (granted January 2012)
September 17 2014 - Applied for 820/801
September 18 2014 - Asked to submit medical
July 1 2015 - 801 Permanent Residency Granted

They told me that they had fast tracked me past the 820 (which was granted on the same day as the 801) and gave me immediate permanent residency, which I didn't expect until September 2016. Very happy with this.

The reason for fast tracking is because there was considerable evidence that we had lived together for over 2 years and because we have a child together.

As an FYI, this was applied for in paper format in Melbourne.

Congrats!! It is stated in booklet 1 that you get past 820 to 801 if you have lived together for 2 years wand have children together or have lived together for 3 years with no kids together.

I wasn't aware of that. A pleasant surprise after 8 months+ of silence!
