Scott, have you done the medical exam yet?

Hi,
Ive lodged my application in 8 august 2014. (Its been 14 months now). I was just on a holiday 70days in my home country and now they need me to get a new police check from there, cuz it was more than 60 days.
(In august they said that only thing preventing me to get the visa was that I was on a holiday. )
But my problem is that I already have booked tickets for Christmas holiday in 2 months overseas. Will they let me to get a new BVB or is that it and I cant do anything about it?
Because to get the clearance again and getting it translated will take approx 30days before getting into their hands.

Hope someone have had the same issue and can help..
Many thanks!

Hi Scott! Hopefully you don't have long to wait now! I also have no clue how the applications get processed - I also saw people getting grants even though they applied after me. Just have to carry on being patient I suppose (easier said than done!). Keep us updated!

Visa grant notice!

Hey everyone so I received an email from immigration at 12am (midnight!) on a Saturday morning with my visa grant. I haven't stopped crying!!

Just a few details for others waiting:

Application made:19 September 2014
Type: Paper
Processing office: WA
Date approved: 16 October 2015

I also received no email communication from them at all apart from my acknowledgement email and BVA. I applied for a BVB and pod two weeks ago.

I am so shocked and so relieved!

Guys can you pls share your experience if anyone have similar to mine or just share how long it took to grant the visa after the case officer was assigned. Well it's been nearly4 weeks now that my application has been allocated to a case officer but no decision yet. Feeling super anxious. Have few complications in my case but not sure how bad they are. So guys can you share if anyone of you took this long in decision making process? Thanks

Hi everyone,

I applied onshore for visa 820 on 26th of June this year, got BVA at the same day and no more news yet. I will go home for holiday next April and for a friend's wedding. They said the process is abt 12-15 months. So I think I have to apply a BVB.

My friend also applied for 820 visa on Sep 2013 and got it after only 3 months waiting (Dec 2013), now she just submitted more documents for 801. Hopefully, I will get visa 820 granted before April.

Things have changed in the last year or so. Most seem to be taking about 12 to 14 months at the moment. Occasionally we see some around 10 or 11 months. We have seen a couple granted recently and both were over 12 months.

In regards to your friend submitting her 801, an 801 applicant was told that there is a backlog and it taking 12 to 15 months.
